And Then There was Drag

Here I am again finding myself in a face full of makeup. Last summer I was in eccentric glam as George in The Wedding Singer at Cumberland Theatre, and now I am slapping on a bold lip as Rexy/Jason in Clearspace's production of The Legend of Georgia McBride.

I am so happy to be back at Clearspace- after stage managing the 2023 summer season- it is great to be back with such a fun and meaningful show. So often the queer experience is presented through the lense of coming out and the struggle of being in the closet. But what happens when you examine the gay zeitgeist through a straight man that discovers the joy of feminie power. Drag is much more than wearing a pair of heels (although they are fun), drag queen's and kings are embedded in our history and often are on the front line for the fight for human rights. Being able to play such an unapologetically loud and confident drag queen is an unbelievable joy.

Come see me, as Rexy/Jason, and the rest of this incredible cast in The Legend of Georgia McBride at Clearspace Theatre running May 4th - 21st.
